Quick definition: 12-month guaranteed-issue Medigap window if you joined Medicare Advantage at first eligibility.

Full explanation

Trial Right protections give you guaranteed-issue Medigap (no medical underwriting) under specific scenarios: (1) you joined a Medicare Advantage plan when first eligible at 65 and want to switch to Medigap within 12 months; (2) you dropped Medigap to try Medicare Advantage for the first time and want to return to your old Medigap plan within 12 months. Trial Right is one of the few federal Medigap guaranteed-issue protections outside the initial 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period.
