All ACA-compliant individual and small-group health plans must cover 10 Essential Health Benefits (EHB): ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, prescription drugs, rehabilitative and habilitative services, laboratory services, preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management, and pediatric services (including dental and vision). Short-term medical plans, healthcare sharing ministries, and ACA-grandfathered plans are NOT required to cover EHB.
